Empowering the union means creating a space where every educator can show up authentically to build true collective solidarity. Angela’s vision leverages this genuine engagement and our members’ relational knowledge for creative problem-solving, ensuring we drive the largest collective impact. By strengthening our voice, we find and implement lasting solutions for pervasive challenges: overcrowded classrooms, unmet student/educator needs, and unsafe work environments.
Organizing for collective power is how we position our union to win. Angela will leverage our collective strength (a strength proven by strong bargaining and high membership) to effectively fight increasing external pressures and challenges to public education. Utilizing her extensive knowledge, creative problem-solving, and reliable follow-through, she will ensure our union is strategically positioned, focused, and effective, translating our solidarity into tangible results for every member.
Transforming our internal systems is how we ensure the union's long-term sustainability. Angela will modernize communication and organizational systems to be clear and efficient, strategically tackling leader burnout and driving deeper member engagement. This transformation includes establishing clear protocols for problem-solving that eliminate bias and secure meaningful action. By making leadership accessible, we actively develop the next generation of HEA advocates and guarantee the union's focused effectiveness.
